If I say I am a citizen of Miklušovce village then I should know and tell that
our ancestors came here in 11th-12th century. It was a dangerous way with uncertain end because they
were escaping from danger of Tatar (after establishment "Veľká Morava"). They were lucky that Miklušovce are situated
in the valley rich in forests. So it was a perfect place to hide from an enemies.
Later in 13th century they settled here and as we know from the first written mention from 14th century (1330) we can call these
settlers as citizen of settlement MIklušovce.
Ok, Miklušovce is not very good expression. Here is a sample of names we had before that:
Our village has a long history. It did not play very important role but in spite of that we were known by large community. There are lots
of proof that we were a property of tens of aristocrats (f.e. from Drienov, from Sečovce, Zápoľskí,Salmisovci...).
We were not a small village. We were much bigger than now and we were Christian community (východný obrad) so kings as Karol Róbert and Žigmunt were little bit interested in our being and tried to put us into right aristocrats' hands.
In 13th century there was built a church which stays until now.
Under church is a tomb and a graveyard.
Fortunately, the first and the second world war did not destroy this village as another "piece of world". As people remembered 1WW was quite calm...only a few men died because they were crimped into open fights. 2WW was "peaceful" too, people said Germans were kind and easygoing...there were not any problems whit them. But Russians in spite of saving us were dirty and aggressive. They destroyed all of our bridges. The worst were interwar periods - hunger and misery.
Today we are too small community to be written on the map, we have only 341 citizens. Prospectivity to find a job is minimum=zero. We grow almost the same plants as in the past (flax, grain, hemp, potatos, cabbage...). But we belong to grange PDP SEDLICE, we have a nursery school, two shops, three pubs and sawmil JAMF.
We have also yet mentioned very nice nature. Miklušovce is situated 481 meters above the sea level in the valley of creek Sopotnica between hills Lysá and Zajačia hora which affects in range of mount Čierna hora.
